Middle Age Women Acne Be Gone
For women who have suffered with acne since their teens and they continue to suffer through adulthood. Middle age women take heart! Acne be gone! It will be your time to finally ditch the acne. But in the meantime what causes women to deal with acne for so many years?
Hormonal imbalances are mostly responsible for acne in adult women, and God knows us women have a lot of hormone imbalances! Premenstrual, menses, pregnancy, and child birth all affect our hormones. We spend half our life on the hormone rollercoaster. And with that rollercoaster ride comes the dreaded acne.
If that’s not enough oestrogen and testosterone imbalances can easily occur from stress or medication. Something as simple as having an IUD device or taking Depo Provera, both methods of birth control, can lead to acne.
When the hormones are out of balance your body produces extra sebum which is any oily secretion of the skin. This clogs the pores and causes those dreaded zits.
Some women never have a pimple until they hit their thirties. Talk about a real shock. This usually occurs when they decide it’s time to go off the pill. Birth control helps balance hormones and for many it keeps acne at bay. So it may not be that they were ever immune to acne just that it’s been so long they never realized they would have pimples.
Some vitamins can also cause acne. Vitamin B supplements and Vitamin E creams are known to cause acne break outs. On the other hand taking zinc orally has shown positive effects to eliminate acne in studies.
There are other conditions that are often mistaken for acne. Conditions such as acne rosacea, keratosis, or perioral dermatitis are often confused as acne. If you are unsure what you are dealing with make an appointment to see your dermatologist.

Diagnosis – hirsutism or just plain hairy??
I’m wondering if I may have hirsutism or an excess of andorgens, some kind of hormonal problem. I’ve always been hairy, but lately I’m noticing that it’s getting a little bit worse in certain areas, and peach fuzz on my face is getting darker.
However I have always had very regular periods, once a month, and I’m not obese. I have started to get acne lately at 19 years old … am I just going through some weird late growth spurt? But nothing else is really growing… haha. I never had acne earlier in life so I think I’m just getting it now, I don’t necessarily think the two are linked but I thought it was worth mentioning.
And I’m of middle eastern descent. I guess my basic question is – what’s the difference between having hirsutism and being just plain hairy? I think I’m the latter because I don’t have any other medical symptoms of hirustism, and I know middle-eastern women tend to be more hairy. It’s something I can deal with, but I’m just curious about the diagnosis of hirsutism.
Hi!!! I think middle eastern girls have the best hair not to forget skin…. but about your question hirsutism is the masculine distribution of hair but associated are also male characteristics if you havent grown a beard and a deep voice i think you have nothing to worry about girl…
Theres a physiological change in your body since your 19 all your hormones are outta wack….it will take some time for em to stablize dont worry about the facial "peach fuzz" usually it will receed and its normal to have a lil fuzz. For the acne you could consult your doctor for a cream with tretonin it has excellent results also makes your skin tighter I prescribe that most of the time and its awesome it may make your skin photosenstive so stay outta the sun but since your brown (its a white kids problem) haha basically dont stress much luv take care

I would say as you are still 19 and having no significant problems it’s probably nothing to worry about. Could be a combination of genes and your hormones figuring themselves out (not necessarily going wrong). As you are Middle Eastern, that is even more significant – I know several women of similar origin who have a bit of peach fuzz and other hair – myself I am also pretty hairy but I’ve always been like that.
If you are worried about it, or it gets worse, I recommend going to a doctor. Hopefully a good doctor will look at all the factors instead of just dismissing your concerns. I would say a blood test to check your hormonal levels should be a good way to start. If your hormones seem fine, then I would say don’t worry about it.

If your periods are regular, don’t worry. Most women eventually develop some moustache and beard growth, usually less than most men and usually a bit later than males develop it. There are millions of women who actually have to shave every day. Unless there are real problems like irregular periods, or your voice starts deepening seriously or your breasts start shrinking away to nothing or your clitoris becomes seriously enlarged, the sensible course of action is simply to shave if necessary. Try use a Norelco electric razor from the men’s range.

probably most of your problem is that the hairs are dark – so it looks like more because it’s more obvious – i wouldn’t worry about it…..
