How can you treat acne AND stay moisturised?
By · CommentsI have combination skin, esp. in winter. How can I treat (teen) acne and keep my face moisturised??? Thanks!
I have sensitive skin that is oily with random dry patches. Use a face wash in the shower and every night before bed, moisturize every morning (night if needed), and use spot treatment on specific break-outs.
I personally love the Neutrogena Blackhead eliminating scrub:

For a moisturizer I try to keep it as light as possible in order to prevent break-outs. I’ve found the Neutrogena Oil-free Sensitive Skin moisturizer to work really well:

For getting rid of pimples quickly Clean and Clear’s Acne Spot Treatment is great. http://www.cleanandclear.com/productDetail.do?productid=33

2 Sure Treatment Options for Acne
By · Comments
There is good news for those who suffer from acne, there is light at the end of the tunnel at last. People who suffer from acne will be happy to find out that there are several treatment options available for them, regardless of the severity of this skin problem.
The first option most people think about is represented by topical treatments. Lotions and creams that purify the skin may also represent a good solution for acne. Majority of these topical treatments are based on salicylic acid or on lactic acid. Besides that, benzyl peroxide, sulfur and resorcinol are other commonly known active ingredients. However, people must keep in mind that this acne treatment is sufficient only for mild forms of acne. It is a different ball game when we talk of severe forms of acne. What these creams do is to destroy the skin bacteria that make the acne even worse. If it is discovered that the creams have no noticeable effect, the doctors usually proceed to recommending stronger prescription lotions.
ANTIBIOTICS
Another efficient and effective but sometimes overlooked acne treatment is antibiotics. This is because a sufferer of acne tends to be too familiar with antibiotics. Antibiotics are particularly recommended for mild to severe acne. Antibiotics help acne sufferers get rid of acne by destroying the bacteria underneath the skin and by providing relief for the skin inflammation. Studies have shown that best results are obtained when using topical treatments combined with antibiotics together. In addition, Isotretinoin is a brand of antibiotics that is highly recommended that should be used only by people who have acne scars. Pregnant women should seek the advice of their doctors before they use this drug as it can affect the fetus. Oral contraceptives, laser therapy and cosmetic procedures may also help people to overcome acne and all its attendant complications.

The Reason Why Most Acne Treatments Don’t Work
By · Comments
In today’s world, it appears as if a new acne product is being released onto the market every week. Since there are dozens of acne treatments to choose from, it can be very difficult trying to pick one that will work for you. All of the companies promise the same skin clearing results, but the majority of them don’t work as well as you would expect. So, why don’t most acne treatments actually work, and how can you find a solution that will give you that beautiful clear skin that you’ve always wanted?
First of all, the reason why the majority of acne products on the market don’t work as well as the companies claim is because they only cleanse the surface of the skin. Products such as Proactiv, Stridex, Clearasil, and other acne products found on the internet don’t dig deep enough inside your pores to attack acne at the root of the problem. Since the majority of facial cleansers only cleanse the surface of your skin, they are just temporary solutions that don’t eliminate the source of your acne problems. On top of that, many products such as Proactiv can also dry out and irritate your skin as well.
The causes of acne are found deep inside your pores and from toxins from inside your body. The only way to get rid of acne blemishes and pimples is to find a treatment that digs deep inside your pores to attack acne-causing bacteria at the root of the problem, and flush out toxins from within your body that can be causing sebum production and overactive hormones.
Without an acne treatment that will attack the source of this skin condition, you will continue to be disappointed in your results despite how many products and facial cleansers you decide to try. Most of them contain the same ingredients and the only thing that changes is the brand name on the label. However, despite the dozens of different acne products that don’t really work, there are a select few treatments that actually do attack acne at the root of the problem to prevent it from coming back again.
